The Katsina State Scholarship and Loans Board has completed the disbursement of 2,000 bursaries for the 2025/2026 academic year, marking the first time the process has been fully digitised using the iKatsina platform.
Students were verified biometrically through the KRID system, eliminating ghost beneficiaries and ensuring payments reached the right recipients. The process that previously took four months was completed in three weeks.
The Board Chairman praised the new system, noting a 40% reduction in administrative costs and zero reported cases of fraud in this disbursement cycle.
Students can apply for the next cycle at portal.katsina.gov.ng under the Education & Scholarships section.
