Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda visited the newly constructed Katsina State Hybrid Buses Maintenance Depot to inspect this facility designed for assembling, maintaining, and servicing 30 hybrid buses recently approved by the state.
The procurement of these 30 hybrid buses had been approved during the State Executive Council's 14th regular meeting the previous year. During the inspection, the Governor toured both exterior and interior sections of the facility with guidance from Malam Ibrahim Bello to assess construction progress and operational readiness.
The depot represents a modern technical facility intended to house, maintain, and eventually assemble hybrid buses as part of the state's sustainable transportation initiative. Officials expect this facility to support efficient transportation services for students, commuters, and residents across various state locations.
The project supports long-term sustainability of the hybrid transport program, targeting reduced transportation costs and improved mobility. The initiative aligns with Governor Radda's administration priorities of strengthening infrastructure, promoting clean energy-efficient transport, and enhancing service delivery statewide.
The Governor was accompanied during the inspection by Chief of Staff Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir and other senior government officials.
